California Trucking Association

Downs Energy is excited to announce our Executive Circle Club Partnership with the California Trucking Association (CTA). This partnership allows us to support the CTA’s members and contribute to achieving their important initiatives.

Downs Energy has been a proud CTA Circle Club Partner for over 5 years (and an Allied Member for 10. Downs Fuel Transport has been a Carrier Member for over 15 years):
2 Years – Premier Circle Club Partner
3 Years – Preferred Circle Club Partner

As an Allied Member, Downs Energy supports the activities of CTA’s units, conferences, staff, councils and committees through fundraising and sponsorship efforts which promote, strengthen and grow the California Trucking Association. For the past two years our Sales Manager Ron Skelskey has proudly served as the Allied State Chair. He sits on the Executive Board and contributes to numerous CTA activities to ensure the trucking industry strives in the California political climate. Ron will fulfill his role as State Chair and move into a new role as Chair for the Riverside/San Bernardino unit.

The California Trucking Association, established in 1934, is the largest trucking trade association in the United States. The CTA promotes leadership within the state’s trucking industry, advocates sound transportation policies at all levels of government, and strives to uphold a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient transportation goods movement system in California. Allied members of the CTA access valuable resources that enhance the long-term profitability and sustainability of motor carriers and suppliers in the trucking industry. These benefits encompass legislative and regulatory representation, advocacy, training, education, workshops, networking opportunities, leadership development, and purchasing programs.

The CTA will host its 70th Annual Membership Conference from January 17th through the 20th in Carlsbad. We are thrilled to be a lead sponsor for this event and eagerly anticipate meeting with numerous member companies. Downs Energy will be hosting a membership appreciation party on Saturday the 20th, celebrating the members with food, beverages, entertainment, and football. This conference offers a valuable opportunity to collaborate with fellow CTA members in shaping the future of the trucking industry in California.
